A folkloric and popular character at the June festivities in Teresina, Piauí, Brazil, Gorete Canivete lives with the conflict between HE and SHE in the popular market where he works. Black, poor and semi-illiterate, Gregorio or Gorete, is 59 years old and reflects on prejudice and happiness while preparing to celebrate his birthday among his co-workers, who welcome him regardless of his gender.

Rivanildo Feitosa is a journalist and TV presenter in Teresina/PI. Author of three novels, he made his audiovisual debut with the film Gorete Canivete, a short film about a character from the cultural scene of street carnivals and June festivals in Mafuá, a neighborhood in the capital of Piauí.
With script courses at AIC, he also took production and script workshops at Tiradentes, Cine BH and Ouro Preto, as well as courses at Barco, Benditas, Trama and Navega platforms, taught by names like Jorge Furtado and Rodrigo Teixeira.
It has several projects in progress, among them, documentary and fiction shorts with social, existential and behavioral themes, some very regional / northeast. He is also working on adapting his novel O Macho e Fêmea for a feature film.
